Our new exhibition in the waiting room on Platform 1 of Leatherhead Train Station, is by Year 3 pupils of The Leatherhead Trinity School and is themed: ”Trinity Unveils Nature”.  The images are photographs taken by pupils who attend their Photography Club.  

Pop-up Poems for Leatherhead

Poetry is enjoying a wonderful revival. From packed open mic nights to the much-loved 80-year-old Michael Rosen collaborating with music and rap teacher MC Grammar on their hilarious children’s book Ridiculous Raps and Rhymes, poetry is reaching more new audiences than ever before. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of Poems on the Underground.

With poetry flourishing, it feels like the perfect time to launch a new Community Arts project:

Pop-up Poems for Leatherhead

The project is open to anyone who would like to write a poem for Leatherhead.  Running throughout 2027, the project will feature monthly-changing pop-up poetry displays, initially appearing at The Station, The Stockroom and The Theatre.  We’re starting modestly but hope to expand to more locations as the project grows.

How you can take part:

1. Submit a poem
If you’d like to have your poem included, simply email it to popuppoems.leatherhead@gmail.com. 

We welcome poems from everyone, whether you’re an experienced poet or just enjoy writing for fun.

2. Volunteer to deliver flyers
Help us spread the word by delivering flyers in your local area. If you can lend a hand, please email Jo at community.taslea@gmail.com to volunteer.

The official launch of Pop-up Poems for Leatherhead will be in January 2027, although you may spot a few poems popping up around town before then!
